VILLENEUVE UNVEILS ITS NEW VTECH CLINICAL ORTHOPEDIC CONCEPT

VILLENEUVE…a trusted family name, recognized in the footwear industry for numerous progressive achievements accomplished over the past decades, indeed the entire 20th century. The words “Villeneuve” and “Shoes” have been closely interrelated since the family patriarch, Amede Villeneuve, founded his company way back in 1896.

In 1962, Chaussures Villeneuve was established by Robert Villeneuve, podiatrist, and Pierrette Desmarais, a certified orthotist by profession.  The couple set up shop on Iberville Blvd in Repentigny, Quebec. A plantar orthotics laboratory was subsequently added in 1971, ensuring clients the utmost in comfort.

The current president, Louis Villeneuve, has been at the helm of the family business since 1984.  Laboratoire Orthopedique Villeneuve quickly grew. In the early 2000’s, research was undertaken to develop a new technology, aimed at making better-fitting orthotic devices available to people suffering from painful foot problems.

In the following years, Louis Villeneuve and his team would develop what is now acknowledged as the most innovative technology devised in the orthopedics industry in the past twenty years.

This avant-garde concept is based on a comprehensive clinical process which includes an extremely powerful high-definition optical scanner plus two clinical software programs.  The digitized clinical information gathered is forwarded via the Internet, 24/7/365, to Goliath, a mathematical server.  The data is subsequently transformed by way of computation algorithms.  The 3D shape of the orthotic generated is then sent to a digitized robot for the precision manufacturing of a patient’s orthosis.  By the time the custom plantar orthotic is complete, a patient’s foot will have been scrutinized by eight different computer programs.

The VTECH technology, developed by Villeneuve, enables professionals worldwide to be at the forefront of progress in terms of foot health, as its computer-assisted technology is the most advanced in the orthopedics industry.
